Tuesday, 30 September 2008I don't think I have to say a lot about this legend. Everybody knows him and everybody likes him, some maybe not, but most of people love him very much :)
2 years of fasting (2006-2007), and he described the year of 2007 as a hell and the lowest part of his entire career. He told the press that he learnt something from the difficult time, he learnt how to accept the lose and grow more mature. Yes, When you win, everything seems perfect and everyone is your friend, but in trying times, only ! the true friends stand by you. Yamaha does it very well and listen to him very much. Yamaha never moaned and always trust his rider.
Rossi is much calmer now and Jeremy Burgess said even if he is so, he never gets into panic during the practice or during race if the problems occur, that's because he is (again) trust his team and crews can fix it. The most important thing I myself learn from his attitude is trust. He trusts his people very much, started from the engineers 'far-away' in Japan, Masao Furusawa, Davide Brivio, Lin Jarvis and of course his mentor Jerry Burgess. No wonder Yamaha is his second family.
Trust is the key to gain the success this year, he trusts bridgestone even he never use it before and Yamaha has no data at all about the tyres, but he and and his people made it work very well, why? the trust among those people... The difference between him and Dani Pedrosa regarding the tyre switch is that Pedrosa gained a wealthy data from H! onda Gresini before making the sudden switch, he just needs 's! mall adj ustment' to make the tyre works as Honda expected. Valentino and Yamaha started from the scretch to make it works as they wanted.
Valentino also trust his engine/bike will not let him down again, and slowly but sure he finds his rhytm again this year and the glory finally come sooner than expected.
Congratulation to him, Yamaha and his fans around the world...
