Broncos Will Look to Deal Cutler

The Denver Broncos owner Pat Bowlen announced that Jay Cutler is officially on the trade block. Cutler has been requesting a trade out of Denver ever since new head coach Josh McDaniels showed interest in now Chiefs QB Matt Cassel. McDaniels and Bowlen have been attempting to reach out to Cutler, but the power armed QB has no interest in being a Bronco anymore. So, where is the best fit for Cutler? What value can Denver get for him?
There will be numerous teams interested in acquiring Cutler. The list includes the Tampa Bay Bucs, New York Jets, Detroit Lions, Chicago Bears, Cleveland Browns, and the Washington Redskins. The Broncos are going to want a lot for a QB they consider to be one of the best in the business. The Lions reportedly would consider dealing their #1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL Draft for Cutler. This would ensure that Denver could draft either Matthew Stafford or Mark Sanchez. The Browns were also reportedly interested or at least interested in being part of a three team deal with either Brady Quinn or Derek Anderse! n heading to Denver. The New York Jets need a QB, and Cutler c! ould put them over the top. What would the Jets give up? This I do not know. They would have to get a team like Cleveland involved most likely to acquire Cutler. The same is true for the Bucs. Tampa Bay was reportedly very interested in Cutler when Denver tried to acquire Cassel. I am sure Tampa bay will come calling again.
Denver is in a tough pickle now. Chris Simms is the only QB on their roster with any pro experience. Simms hasn't started in a few years ever since his major injuries. The Broncos need to make sure they ge! t a young QB in return, whether via the draft, in a three team deal, or maybe even a straight up swap with Cleveland.
I expect Cutler to land in Tampa Bay. The Bucs have been interested since the beginning and I know they are already on the phone. Expect a team like Cleveland to be pulled into the trade talks so Denver can land one of their quarterbacks. It will be intersting as to how this turns out.
